Visiting Coaches

We make efforts to let our students learn from the best. On the regular basis we bring in top stars of competitive ballroom dancing, who make special performances, teach workshops and offer private lessons through our studio.

Johan and Nadia Eftedal

Nadia began her dancing career at the age of 8 in Los Angeles, Calif. under the tutelage of Ken and Sheila Sloan.

Throughout her junior, amateur and early professional years, Nadia was competing in both International styles of Standard and Latin. Upon teaming up with Johan, it was decided they would represent his native country of Norway and live in Europe alternating between Norway and England where they would study under the most famous teachers in the world.

Their partnership proved to be very successful as they won many prestigious titles including:

  • Open British Professional Latin Champions
  • U.K. Professional Latin Champions
  • Twice European Latin Champions
  • U.S. Open Professional Latin Champions
  • Winners of the Super Japan Cup
  • German Open Latin Championships

Johan and Nadia traveled extensively performing numerous lectures, demonstrations and teaching trips throughout Asia, Europe, Australia and the United States. They have made instructional videos available in Japan and the United States.

Once they retired in 1994, Nadia decided to return home to California where she continues to train top couples, lecture and adjudicate major national and international competitions. She also organizes one of America’s most famous dance training seminars, The Holiday Ball and Dance Camp.

Vibeke Toft

Vibeke, originally from Denmark, spent most of her amateur years together with her long term partner Alan Tornsberg based in London. There they immersed themselves into dancing practically 24/7 , and developed under the great guidance of people like Walter Laird, Donnie Burns, and the fabulous Loraine, only to name a few. One of their highlights as amateurs was to win the World Latin title.

After turning professional, they consistently pushed their artistic and athletic limits by widening their horizons through extensive studies with original Latin dancers in Cuba, and New York, which allowed them to be trendsetters in the professional Latin field. Their constant innovation continued to ensure them a high ranking as Grand Finalists.

  • Amateur World Champion
  • Amateur European Champion
  • Amateur International Champion
  • Amateur UK Champion
  • Amateur British Open Champion
  • Amateur German Open Champion
  • Professional US Open Champion
  • Professional World Grand Finalist
  • Professional European Grand Finalist
  • Professional UK Grand Finalist
After Alan and Vibeke decided to pursue their artistic development with new partners, Vibeke teamed up with Paul Killick. This partner change allowed Vibeke to grow and develop new areas of her dancing, and she suddenly became very recognized for her unbelievable power mixed with utmost femininity. Unfourtunately, due to illness, she had to stop her competitive career for several years, though she enjoyed a recent comeback for only one competition with her previous partner Alan Tornsberg. They teamed up once again for the Professional European Latin Championships, 2002, and after only 8 weeks of preparation finished as grand finalists in fourth place, proving that they are still one of the world's best dance teams.

Vibeke now resides in New York, and continues to travel the world as a coach and demonstrator.

Charlotte Jorgensen

Charlotte started dancing at the age of 2 in Denmark. At 18 she moved to London to study with the best teachers in the world at that time.

In 1994 she won the World Amateur Championships and turned professional.
Just 2 weeks after turning Professional she won the Professional Rising Star Championships in Blackpool and placed in the semi-final in the Open Professional Championships.
